What Is Cube Root?
A cube root is the value that, when multiplied by itself three times (cubed), produces the original number. It's written as ∛x, or x^(1/3). Unlike a square root, a cube root can be negative, since a negative number cubed stays negative.
Example
∛27 = 3, since 3 × 3 × 3 = 27. ∛(−8) = −2, since (−2) × (−2) × (−2) = −8.
