What Is Polynomial?
A polynomial is an expression built from one or more terms, each a coefficient multiplied by a variable raised to a non-negative whole-number power, combined with addition or subtraction. Its degree is the highest exponent that appears. Polynomials cannot include variables in a denominator, negative exponents, or exponents that are fractions or variables themselves.
Example
3x² + 5x − 7 is a polynomial of degree 2 (a quadratic), with terms 3x², 5x, and −7.
